General Information:
This year’s theme is inspired by this quote from Voltaire’s Candide: “One must cultivate one’s own garden.” We are interpreting this line broadly and more in line with community, and so have chosen ‘land’ as the central key word for this year. This theme allows us to have a wide range of topics, including, but not limited to the following: property, land ethic, land statements, indigeneity, food scarcity and food insecurity, public lands (land grant universities, parks, etc), community gardens, disability and the built environment, etc.
